Buddi is a ‘go anywhere, anytime’ personal emergency service. With buddi, help is always there at the touch of a button.

When the person you’re looking after is wearing a buddi, it detects when they fall or press the alert buttons for help. Buddi’s 24hr monitoring service can find their location, talk to them through the buddi to establish the kind of assistance they require, or call the person looking after them.

Why choose buddi through Carers UK?

Working in partnership with the producers of buddi, Carers UK is delighted to offer a significant saving on the cost of this beautifully-designed product.

Buddi usually costs £249, plus £5 per week to keep the ongoing emergency connection. Through Carers UK, you can get buddi for an offer price of just £49.99 – an upfront saving of 80% (Offer ends Sunday November 29th 2015). The weekly cost remains the same.

Buddi has been developed with users, and it shows! As attractive as any wearable technology, buddi offers all the features of a personal alarm, fall detector and GPS tracker with the benefits of truly modern design.

Buddi is a personal emergency response service, providing confidence for you and the person you are looking after. By wearing the wristband 24 hrs a day, providing it is within range of the clip, help is always there at the touch of a button.

If the alert buttons are pressed for help, or if the system detects a fall, buddi’s 24hr monitoring service can find location information, talk to the person you are caring for through their buddi to establish the kind of assistance they require, and notify you as an emergency contact.

You can monitor activity levels during the day and as they sleep at night, which will indicate good health. You can set expected activity levels, safe places and speed alerts to personalise your alerts to suit the lifestyle of your loved one.

  • Anyone living alone
  • Anyone at risk of a fall
  • Anyone who might lose their way when out and about
  • Anyone interested in their daily activity and sleep patterns
  • Anyone travelling alone

But above, for carers, it’s for anyone who you want to be just a button press away.

Buddi clip should be attached to the wearer’s house keys. When at home, it lives on the dock and it must be carried when out and about. When needed, it locates the person carrying it and uses mobile technology so they can talk to buddi’s 24-7 emergency monitoring centre.

carrying it and uses mobile technology to enable them to talk to buddi’s 24-7 emergency monitoring centre.

The buddi wristband is waterproof and designed to be worn at all times. It senses motion, detects falls automatically and communicates wirelessly with the buddi clip. By pressing the buttons on the wristband, the wearer can ask for help 24-7. If an alert is triggered accidentally, the buttons can be used just as easily to cancel it, leaving the user in complete control.

The buddi dock charges the wristband and the clip and communicates wirelessly with them, displaying battery charge levels.

When at home, the buddi clip lives on its charging dock but it must be carried – for example clipped to the wearer’s house keys – when they are out and about. It can then locate the person carrying it and uses mobile technology to enable them to talk to buddi’s 24-7 emergency monitoring centre.

Push button emergency alarm

At the touch of a button, Buddi will alert the 24/7 emergency monitoring centre. The UK based team will immediately contact the person you look after on their buddi. If they cannot be reached, the monitoring team will endeavour to alert you or other registered emergency contacts. Also, as an optional extra, the technology allows buddi to work abroad when someone is on holiday (contact customer care for advice).

Fall detector

The fall alert works fully automatically, so even if someone is incapacitated as a result of a fall the system still works without having to be activated by hand. A sensor called an accelerometer inside the wristband measures the changes in movement that result from a fall. If a fall is detected, it raises the alert with buddi’s 24/7 Emergency Monitoring Centre who then attempt to make contact with the wearer. If unsuccessful, they will then alert the other registered emergency contacts. The wristband will vibrate and flash blue when alerting. You can cancel an alert by pressing the buttons.

Location finder

Through using the latest satellite navigation (GPS) technology, Buddi can accurately locate someone – any time, any place, anywhere. So no one is confined to their home, like other fall alarms. Buddi enables independent minded individuals, to make no compromises; they can simply get on with living life, wherever it takes them, and enjoy being out and about without any restrictions.

24/7 emergency monitoring – Personal attention

As well as utilising the very latest technology, buddi operates a fully staffed Emergency Monitoring Centre in the UK where trained operators are on hand 24/7, 365 days of the year, to react to emergency alerts and inform registered contacts of emergencies so that they can provide assistance.

Activity and sleep

Buddi can monitor activity during the day and sleep patterns at night, which are indicators of good health. The graphs help to identify sleep patterns and monitor restless sleep and night-time activity. High and low levels of activity during the day, or during the week, are easy to see. You can also set your personal step counting goals and receive notifications when you achieve them.
