Carers’ Support East Kent are commissioned by Kent County Council (KCC) and Health to provide support and assessment services to unpaid Carers in East Kent.
As part of this service we are able to undertake statutory Carer’s Assessments on behalf of Kent County Council.
In addition, we also deliver a Dementia Visitor service across the three East Kent Hospitals, funded by East Kent Hospitals University NHS Foundation Trust.
We are a Carers Trust network partner, and an affiliate member of Carers UK.
We offer programmes of activities for Carers funded through charitable donations, and seek out additional funding and partnership working opportunities to enable us to identify and support Carers, particularly those groups not supported by our existing funding streams.
Carers’ Support East Kent recognise the challenges Carers face and value Carers. We provide information, support and a listening ear to Carers. We also offer a range of opportunities to meet other Carers, take part in activities and attend training specifically for Carers.
We aim to ensure Carers are recognised, listened to, and offered information and support that is focused on their own needs and wellbeing and enables them to continue to care, where they choose to do so.
We welcome referrals from professionals, providing the Carer has given consent for the referral to be made. We can accept referrals by telephone or e-mail, and will confirm receipt of the referral before making contact with the Carer. If you wish to refer by e-mail please use the simple referral form below.
We are a single point of contact for Carers, providing a range of services to support Carers’ needs:
